As a subconsultant to the project architect, Leopardo Efficiency guided the renovation through a six-week design phase and six-month construction timeline, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery aligned with regulatory and functional standards.
- Addressed a condensing unit fitment issue when the originally specified 2-ton unit, designed to reject heat into the open-air plenum above the ceiling, proved unfeasible for the physical space. In response, the contractor proposed splitting the load between two smaller systems. After consulting with the owner—who preferred not to increase equipment count—Leopardo Efficiency engineers revised the approach by downsizing the existing unit and increasing the VAV box airflow to meet tonnage requirements. The issue was fully resolved within five business days, balancing space constraints, cost considerations, and owner preferences.
- Resolved an electrical capacity challenge when Nuvia dental equipment was found to exceed the load capacity typical of similar commercial office spaces. Leopardo Efficiency engineers traced the electrical feeders to their origin and determined the building’s meter center lacked adequate space for a single large section. In coordination with the owner, the team designed a solution to bring in two smaller feeds, maintaining electrical performance and adding system redundancy. The issue was addressed in just two business days, with no added cost or impact to other tenants.
